Voge, Marion Elinor (Marriage - 18 Mar. 1941)

March 18, on the anniversary of her 18th birthday, Miss Marian Eleanor Voge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Voge, became the bride of Robert Henry Wibben, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wibben. The Rev. J. Brandt read the marriage service in the Lutheran parsonage at Dorchester at 1:30 in the afternoon.

The bride wore a gown of white satin with lace trim on the shoulders, long sleeves and train. Tiny white satin buttons down the back trimmed the tight fitting bodice. A lace trimmed finger tip veil fell from a tiara of seed pearls. The bride carried an arm bouquet of roses, carnations and gladioli tied with a large white bow.

Miss Dorothy Wibben, sister of the groom, attended the bride. She wore a gown of light blue taffeta, with cluster of pink and blue flowers tied with long blue ribbongs at the point of the V neck line. A light blue shoulder length veil fastened by a wreath of blue flowers, a wrist corsage similar to the bride’s bouquet and white slippers completed her ensemble.

Roy Singstock of Colby was the best man.

Following the ceremony a reception at which 75 guests were present was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was decorated in twisted streamers of blue and white gathered to the center by a large white wedding bell. A bridal cake and a lighted birthday cake graced the bridal table.

A wedding dance was held in the evening at the Armory. The music was furnished by Edwin Marks, cousin of the bride, and his band.

Among relatives from away who attended the wedding were the bride’s grandfather, Henry F. Miller, Ferdinand Miller and Theodore Zimpel, of Butternut; Mrs. Arthur Newell, Ashland; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bahr and son, Marathon and Miss Alice Wibben, of Galloway.
