Staszcuk, Theresa (29 MAY 1951)

A beautiful double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Father John Dzurko in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman united in marriage Miss Theresa Staszcuk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Staszcuk of Gilman, and Raymond Slipek, son of Mrs. B. Waichulis of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory satin designed with a yoke of French imported lace. The skirt extended into a long train and the sleeves came to points at the wrists. Her fingertip veil of nylon had a hand-rolled edge and the headpiece was formed of tiny white roses. Her pearls were a gift of the groom. She carried a white rosary and a bouquet made up of white roses and lilies of the valley centered with an orchid.

Mrs. Wm. Christen served as her sister’s matron of honor, wearing a gown of light green taffeta and netted with marquisette. Her picture hat and gloves matched her gown.

The bridesmaids: Mrs. Henry Staszcuk, Miss Louise Moczarny, Mrs. Casey Staszcuk, Mrs. Theresa Wargolet and Miss Theresa Mroz were gowned identically, all in yellow. They all wore pearls and matching earrings, gifts from the bride, and carried heart shaped bouquets of talisman roses and lilies of the valley with the ribbons matching their gowns.

The bride’s niece, Miss Marcia Staszcuk, was flower girl dressed identical as the bridesmaids.

Serving the groom were Henry Staszcuk as best man, Joe Kuzera, Casey Staszcuk, Raymond Nicoski and Vern Kresky. John Urbanik, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. All wore white jackets and dark trousers with white carnation boutonnieres, while the groom wore lily of the valley.

For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Staszcuk wore a light blue dress with white accessories. The groom’s mother was attired in a black print dress with matching accessories. Both had corsages of pink roses.

After the church services a reception was held at the P.N.A. hall in Thorp. Dancing continued there in the evening with approximated 700 guests attending.

A graduate of the Gilman High School in 1948, the bride has been employed in Chicago the past three years. The groom is engaged in farming. He and his bride plan to take a trip out east in the fall.
