Wiedenhoeft, Anna Augusta (5 June 1887 - 22 Aug. 1961)

Mrs. Anna Augusta Wiedenhoeft died at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, early Tuesday morning, Aug. 22, at the age of 74 years. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock in Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. Wm. Christian officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby Memorial cemetery (Colby, Wisconsin).

Anna Pokallus was born in Colby, Wisconsin on June 5, 1887, and received her education in the Colby area. She married Gustav Wiedenhoeft in Colby, Wisconsin on June 10, 1909. After their marriage, the couple operated a farm just at the edge of Colby until the death of Mr. Wiedenhoeft in 1933. She lived in Colby since his death.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran church in Colby, and, at one time was a member of the Ladies’ Aid and church choir.

Surviving are her four brothers and four sisters, Paul Pokallus of Colby, Arthur Pokallus of Granton, Albert Pokallus of Marshfield, Henry Pokallus of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Rose Kobs of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Egert (Ruth) Logerquist of Sister Bay, Mrs. Lawrence (Evelyn) Priem of Colby, and Mrs. August (Theresa) Nabel of Dorchester, Wis.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Wiedenhoeft were held last Thursday in Zion Lutheran church, Rev. Wm. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Kenneth Schulz, accompanied by Miss Jeanne Tesmer, sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me."

Pall bearers were Ralph Pokallus, Laurence Pokallus, Arthur Wiedenhoeft, Alvin Wiedenhoeft, Ted Baumgart and George Sterzinger.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pokallus of Granton, Henry Pokallus of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Rose Kobs and Mrs. Eugene Kelly and Karen of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Egert Logerquist and Diane of Sister Bay, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pokallus, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Pokallus, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Pokallus, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Frey and Dale Pokallus of Marshfield, Mrs. Alfred Zugler and son, Richard, of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pokallus and Kenneth of Abbotsford, Wis. Attending the funeral services also were relatives and friends of Unity and Colby, Wis.
