Anthony, William (23 MAY 1856 - 10 NOV 1944)

William Anthony was born in Slamannan, Scotland, on May 23, 1856, and passed away on Nov. 10.

He came to America at the age of 25, settling on a farm near Christie. He was married on Dec. 5, 1894, to Miss Alice Sweet. Three children were born to this union, Rella, who died at Angers, France, during World War 1; Clyde, who passed away at the Luther hospital in Eau Claire on Dec. 21, 1942, and Ruby, at home. His wife preceded him in death on Mar. 16, 1942, his health failing shortly after. He was confined to his bed for seven weeks.

When in good health, he enjoyed working in his flower and garden, where he felt closer to God.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon, Nov. 12, from the Gilbertson funeral home in Granton, the Rev. E. H. Ratzloff of Spokeville Gospel Hall officiating. Mrs. Ratzloff sang "Sometime We’ll Understand" and "Nearer My God to Thee." Interment was made in the Windfall cemetery.

The Tribune adds its sympathy to that of friends and neighbors to the bereaved relatives.
