Haslow, Ruth (20 SEP 1944)

The 39th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Haslow of Loyal was chosen by their daughter, Miss Ruth Haslow, as the date of her marriage to Robert Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young of Loyal. The ceremony was read by the Rev. J. C. Langholz in Trinity Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Sept. 20. The nuptial vows were repeated before the church altar, which was decorated with autumn flowers. With Mrs. Marvin Seeman as accompanist, Miss Dorothy Kanneberg sang "I Love You Truly" and "Jesus Be Our Guide."

The bride’s gown was of brocaded satin made with a fitted bodice. The long sleeves were pointed at the wrists and the full skirt ended in a court train. Her fingertip lace-edged veil was held by a seed pearl headdress. And for her jewelry she wore pearls, agift of the groom.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haslow, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, and dale Young, brother of the groom, and Miss Dorothy Schuette were the attendants.

Mrs. Haslow wore pink brocaded taffeta, and Miss Schuette wore blue brocaded taffeta, with matching blusher veils, gold necklaces, gifts of the bride, and shoulder corsages.

The home of the bride’s parents was decorated with pink, white and blue streamers and a white wedding bell, and supper was served to 14 guests. A three tiered wedding cake centered the table. In the evening a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion, near Colby, Wis.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Loyal high school. The bride has been employed by the Loyal Canning Company. The groom is engaged in farming, and they will make their home on his farm.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Haslow wore a soldier blue wool dressmaker suit, and the groom’s mother was attired in a navy blue crepe dress. Both wore shoulder corsages of white gladioli.

Guests from away were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Haslow of Spring Green.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
