Skroch, Patricia Ann (Marriage - 24 January 1951)

St. Mary’s Catholic Church was the scene of the marriage Wednesday, January 24, of Miss Patricia Ann Skroch and Thomas Svetlik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Svetlik, Sr. The bride is the daughter of Capt. E. J. Skroch, who is in the service in Korea and Mrs. A. L. Peyton of Billings, Mont.

The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Everett Skroch, was attired in a gown of white satin fashioned pith a marquisette yoke edged in lace. She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white roses and lilies of the valley.

Miss Mary Skroch, cousin of the bride and Miss Norma Jean Marsolek of Independence were bridesmaids. Miss Skroch was attired in a gown styled with a pink net skirt and lace bodice trimmed in satin. Miss Marsolek wore an aqua gown with marquisette skirt and satin bodice trimmed with marquisette. They wore matching mitts and carried colonial bouquets of sweet peas, roses and mums in pastel shades.

The groom was attended by Albert Burkhard of Milwaukee and Calvin Swenson of Neillsville.

Mistress Carolyn Svetlik daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Svetlik, Jr. acted as flower girl. She was attired in a floor length dress of gold satin with matching mitts and carried a small colonial bouquet.

A 12:30 luncheon was served for forty guests at the Merchants Hotel. The room was appropriately decorated with aqua, pink and white streamers and white wedding bells. A three tiered wedding cake centered the bridal table. Following the luncheon the young couple left for a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and Minnesota winter sports areas. They will be at home after January 31.

The bride is a graduate of Billings High School, Billings, Mont., and worked as a telephone operator there for two years. She came to Wisconsin in April to visit her paternal grandparents. She remained to assist in the care of her grandmother during her last illness.

The groom was graduated from Cadott High School. He served in the armed forces in Japan for 21 months and is now affiliated with the Svetlik Motor Company.

Guests from out of town attending the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Simon Skroch and Mary, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Skroch of Independence, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Scherer of La Crosse, Mr. and Mrs. James Marx of Eau Claire, Mrs. Milton Lohr, Albert Burkhard and Genevieve Burkhard, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
