Galiger, Darlene A. (5 Dec. 1931 - 13 Sept. 2006)

Darlene A. Galiger, Phillips, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, at the age of 74. She was born on December 5, 1931, in Withee, Wis., the daughter of Edward and Frances (Brown) Pasco. She spent her early life and schooling in the Withee area. She attended and graduated from Abbottsford High School and then the Taylor County Normal School where she received a teacher’s certificate.

She taught school at the Colby Rural school until the time of her marriage. She was married to Miles "Jug" Galiger, Jr. on November 7, 1953, in Abbottsford. They made their home in Phillips since 1962. She was instrumental in the Head Start Program and was the teacher from 1967 to 1970. In her free time she enjoyed doing craft projects and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Miles "Jug" Galiger, Jr., Phillips; a son, Robert "Bob" of Phillips; a daughter, Patricia (Tim) Schoenborn, Dorchester; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the United Methodist Church, Phillips, with Pastor Sandra Hamilton officiating. Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of the service

The Heindl Funeral Home, Phillips, is in charge of the arrangements.
