Radke, Emma (21 Mar. 1867 - 2 Sept. 1960)

Mrs. Emma Radke died Friday noon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brockhaus in the town of Colby, where she had been living for some time, at the age of 93 years. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church, Rev. Orval Egbert, pastor of the Zion United Church of Christ at Greenwood, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Arvin Stock, Rudolph Stock, Roger Staffeil, Richard Herrmann, Peter Beyerl and Vilas Thede.

The former Emma Velle was born in Centerville on March 21, 1867. Her marriage to Charles Radke took place in 1892. They farmed in the town of Colby all their married life.

Her husband died in 1936. Her only child, a son, Carl, died in 1950. Six sisters also preceded her in death.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. George Schjoneman and Emil Kroll of Wausau and Gottlieb Schulz of Spencer.

Mrs. Radke is still remembered by many for her fine Christian character, always performing her duties honestly and well, and, being of a kindly and friendly disposition, was well-liked by everyone.
