Siems, Louisa (2 December 1855 - 14 February 1927)

Mrs. Henry Siems passed away at her home in this city (on Bruley Street) Monday morning, Feb. 14, 1927, after a week’s illness from the flu and weakness of the heart.

Mrs. Siems, whose maiden name was Louisa Pingel, was born in DuPage County, Illinois, in 1855. She grew to womanhood there and was married to Henry Siems in (Dec. 28)1875. In 1895 they moved to Clark County and bought a farm in the Town of Levis, south of Neillsville. This was their home until 1914, when they moved to Neillsville, residing here ever since.

To Mr. and Mrs. Siems were born nine children, seven of whom died in infancy. She is survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. Mary (Joseph) Kopp of south Pine Valley and William Siems of Levis. She leaves also seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Siems was a quiet, home-loving woman; a good wife and mother and a kind and helpful neighbor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The funeral was held at St. Johns Lutheran Church Wednesday, Feb. 16, Rev. H. Brandt officiating.

Those from away to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Linke and son of Chicago, Herman Pingel, River Forest, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pingel and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scharringhausen, Arlington Heights, Ill.; Jos. Siems, Chicago; Mrs. Rudolph Carlson and Miss Alice Carlson of Owen.
