Wolfkiel, Nancy Ann (15 Aug. 1853 - 9 Jan. 1940)

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Ann Wolfkiel who died Tuesday morning will be held at the Presbyterian Church, at one o’clock Friday afternoon. The body will lie in state at the Zink Funeral Home until that time. Internment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

Nancy Ann McCartney was born August 15, 1853 in Pennsylvania. At the age of 18 she was married there to Samuel Lewis. Her husband died early in their married life, leaving his widow and one small son, Samuel, Jr.

In 1878 she was united in marriage to Alexander Wolfkiel in Franklin, Pennsylvania who preceded his wife in death by many years.

In 1920 Mrs. Wolfkiel came to Abbotsford to make her home with her son, Samuel. On April 8, 1937 she was taken to the LeGault Hospital at Owen, for a broken hip which mended but other complications kept her there as a patient until her death on Tuesday morning at eleven o’clock at the age of 86 years.

One son, Samuel Lewis, of Abbotsford and three grandsons, George Lewis of St. Cloud, Minn., Earl Lewis of Montesano, Wash., and Lester Lewis, of Abbotsford survive.

Last rites for Mrs. Nancy Ann Wolfkiel, age 86, were conducted Friday afternoon at one o’clock at the Presbyterian Church with Dr. E. L. Hoover officiating. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The pallbearers were Albert Nelson, Leo Bauer, Chris Bremer, Frank Lukas, Peter Hanson, Olaf Hanson.

Mrs. Wolfkiel died Tuesday, Jan. 9th at the Le Gault Hospital, Owen, where she had been a patient since April 8, 1937.

She is survived by one son, S. J. Lewis; three grandsons, Lester of Abbotsford, Earl of Montesano, Wash., and George of St. Cloud, Minn.
