Meier, Arlene Mildred (14 March 1929 - 6 January 2009)

Arlene M. Meier, age 79, of Thorp, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel, in Thorp, with burial to follow at East Thorp Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home on Saturday, January 10, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Arlene M. Meier, age 79, of Thorp, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Burial followed in East Thorp Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Lyle Wagner, Danny Brandemuehl, Cole Vetterkind, Gary Turenne, Mike Kitchen and Jeff Glenz.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 10, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the Thorp Funeral Home.

Arlene Mildred Wulf was born on March 14, 1929, in Burlington, WI, to Otto William and Violet Anna (Wegner) Wulf, and was educated at area schools. She was united in marriage to Henry Brandemuehl on December 20, 1947, in Waukesha, WI. They later divorced. Arlene then married Henry Meier on December 24, 1965 in Indiana. They moved to the Thorp area in the late 1960’s, where Arlene worked in housekeeping for ITT Life Insurance Corp. until their move out of state in 1981.

In her spare time, Arlene loved being outdoors. She was an avid gardener, she enjoyed mowing the lawn, and working in her flower garden.

Arlene is survived by her children: Faye (Roger) Kodl of Granton, Daniel (Becky) Brandemuehl of Neillsville, and Sharon Turenne of Thorp; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Marilyn) Wulf of Waukesha, WI; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Henry Brandemuehl and Henry Meier; and one son, Roger Brandemuehl.
