Rojicek, Ilene S. (23 Feb. 1921 - 31 Dec. 1999)

Ilene S. Rojicek, 78, of 908 Pine St. in Marshall, Ill., died at 4:15 a.m. Dec. 31, 1999, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in the town of Sherwood, Clark County. The Rev. Harold Keekley, vacancy pastor, will officiate. Mary Lou Sherwood will be the organist for congregational singing. Burial will be in Sherwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Rembs/Kundinger Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.

She was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Yale, Ill., to Pearl and Blanche (nee Baker) Snearly. She was married to William Rojicek on May 28, 1944, at the First Congregational Church in Berwyn, Ill.

Ilene and her husband resided in the Chicago area until their retirement in 1976. They then moved to the town of Sherwood where she resided until the death of her husband. She then moved to Spencer and later to Rice Lake until 1997 when she moved to Marshall, Ill.

She is survived by her twin sister Irene (Frank) Barta of Darien, Ill., and her sister, Leah (Ken) Motzer of Longmont, Colo.; and her brother Estel Eugene (Lucy) Snearly of Joplin, Mo. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews including Sharon Wichman, Terry Stout, Richard Stout and Ted Stout.

She was predeceased by her husband on Jan. 25, 1983; by her parents, one brother and one sister.
