Kobs, Mary Louisa (19 Feb. 1871 - 7 Nov. 1959)

Mrs. Mary Louisa Kobs, a former Colby resident, died in Chicago, Ill., Saturday, Nov. 7th, at the age of 88 years. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Zion Lutheran church in Colby, Wis., Rev. Wm. R. Christian officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Neal Huhn, Ferdinand Huhn. Arnold Krueger, Ringland Krueger, Edward Kalepp, Kenneth Kobs.

The former Mary Marquardt was born on February 19, 1871. After her marriage to Julius Kobs, they lived on a farm in the town of Colby until they retired and moved to the city of Colby, Wis. Mr. Kobs preceded her in death in 1938. Mrs. Kobs lived in Chicago the past eight years.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Krueger of Elmhurst, Ill., Mrs. Dorothy Wuggenhurst of Berrien Springs, Mich., Mrs. Hilma Zubak and Mrs. Hilda Normholm of Chicago; Walter Kobs of Chicago; 14 grand children; 22 great grand children; four brothers, Herman Marquart of Rothschild, Fred Marquardt of Athens, Frank Marquardt of Waukesha, Benjamin Marquardt of Marshfield; three sisters, Mrs. Gust Meinhold of Greenwood, Mrs. George Tessmer of Colby and Mrs. Jess Hill of Chicago.
