Strovers, Esther (14 MAY 1949)

On Saturday, May 14, 1949, Miss Esther Strovers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Strovers, Stanley, Wis., and Frederick F. Smitke, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smitke, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., were united in marriage at Eau Claire Presbyterian Parsonage with Rev. Geo. A. Waters performing the double ring ceremony at 2 o’clock.

The bride wore a grey suit with navy and white accessories with a white rose, lilies of the valley and sweet pea corsage.

The bridesmaid, Miss Betty Hanson, friend of the bride, wore navy blue faille dress with beige accessories, with pink tearose and sweet pea corsage.

The groom wore a blue suit with a white carnation. He was attended by Irvin Klick, a friend, as best man. He wore navy blue with a white carnation.

Miss Pat Pierce of Bridgewater, England, now of Eau Claire, sang "I Love You Truly."

A five o’clock supper was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Smitke, Thorp. The couple left on an extended honeymoon through Iowa.

The bride is employed at Blue Moon Foods, Inc., and the groom at the Town of Withee Dairy.
