Ciolkosz, Anna (18 DEC 1870 - 4 NOV 1948)

Anna Chmiel Ciolkosz passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls at 4:00 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 4th, 1948 of old age infirmities.

The deceased was born Dec. 18, 1870 in the city of Wielepale Skrzynskie, Village of Nawsie in Poland. She was married there Oct. 26, 1887 to John Ciolkosz, who preceded her in death last March 30. She came to America in 1906 and has since resided in the Town of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). She is survived by five sons, Joseph of Winsted, Conn.; Frank of Stanley; Lewis of Thorp; Walter of Boyd and William; and four daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Josephine) Staron of Thorp; Mrs. Ed (Mary) Smoczyk of Stanley; Mrs. Albert (Helen) Patchak of Cadott and Mrs. Harry (Stella) Patchak of Sheboygan. Two children died in infancy. She is also survived 59 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held November 8 at St. Mary Czestochowa Church of Stanley, with Rev. J. Kamla officiating and interment taking place in the parish cemetery. Six grandsons acted as pallbearers: Michael Patchak, Larry Staron, Erwin Ciolkosz, Henry and Jim Smoczyk and Rudolph Ciolkosz.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ciolkosz of Winsted, Conn.; Mrs. Harry Patchak of Sheboygan; Virginia Ciolkosz, Frances and Lawrie Staron, Joe Krych and Mrs. Henry Nyckel of Chicago.
