Parge, Carolyn (18 Aug. 1849 - 22 Feb. 1937)

Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Parge, who died Monday, took place Thursday afternoon at the Arthur Baehr home, Dorchester, Wis. At two o’clock, the Rev. J. Brandt officiated at the services held at St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester, Wis. Internment was made in Memorial cemetery at Dorchester, Wis.

Carolyn Ewert was born in Germany on Aug. 18, 1849, and lived there until 1856 when she came to America and made her home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was married to August Parge in 1869 at Cedarburg, and the couple live at Washington road until 1882, when they moved to a farm four miles southwest of Dorchester, Wis.

After the death of Mr. Parge in 1919, Mrs. Parge made her home at Abbotsford until early this year when she went to live with a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Baehr.

Mrs. Parge died of bronchial pneumonia at the age of 87. She was formerly a member of the Ladies’ Aid of St. Peter’s Lutheran church, Dorchester, and at the time of her death was a member of the Ladies’ Aid of the Christ Lutheran church, Abbotsford, Wis.

Nine children survive her. They are Charles, Alberta, Can.; Otto, Saskatchewan, Can.; August, Orange, Calif.; Martin, Los Angeles, Calif.; Herman, Minot, N. Dak.; Henry, Abbotsford; Mrs. Albert (Emma) Ebert, Fond du Lac; Mrs. George (Alma) Baehr, Withee; and Mrs. Arthur (Anna) Baehr, Dorchester, Wis. Thirty-seven grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive.
