Miller, Bernice (28 June 1915 - 7 Sept. 1994)

Colby--Bernice Ruth Miller, 79, Colby, died at 2:40 a.m. Sept. 7, 1994 at the Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, with the Rev. Mark Neumann officiating. Burial will be in Colby Memorial cemetery (Colby, Wisconsin).

Honorary pallbearers will be gandsons Michael, Sawyer and Steven Lubke and Trey and Ross Bailey.

Visitation will be at Community Funeral Home in Colby from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Bernice was born June 28, 1915, in the town of Frankfort, Marathon County, to the late William and Clara (Johnson) Leffel. She attended Upham School. She was married to Harold Miller on Sept. 21, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, and he died Aug. 19, 1979.

Before her marriage, Bernice worked in Chicago and Evanston, Ill. After her marriage, she and Harold farmed and operated a cheese factory in the town of Hull, Marathon County.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Sewing Circle, Lutheran Layman's League and the Cherokee Homemakers.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth (Sharon) Miller of Colby; two daughters, Tonnie (Forrest) Bailey of Woodbury, Minn., and Renee (Wayne) Lubke of Togiak, Alaska; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.
