Wink, Amelia (8 MAY 1948)

St. Bernard’s Catholic Church was the scene of the wedding at 8:30 Saturday morning, May 8, 1948, of Miss Amelia Wink, daughter of Mr. Albert Wink of the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), and Frank Hodorowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hodorowski of the Town of Withee (Clark Co.). The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. Muckerheide.

The bride chose a gown of white satin with a fitted sweetheart neckline with a long train. The bodice and neckline were trimmed with beaded pearls into a bouquet of flowers. Her fingertip laced veil was held by a tiara of rhinestones to match the gown. She carried a bouquet of white carnations, roses and sweet peas tied by a wide satin bow with long streamers to which carnations were attached.

Miss Betty Wink, the bride’s sister, as maid of honor, wor ea gown of blue taffeta with overskirt of net and carried a bouquet of pink carnations, roses and sweet peas tied with pink ribbon and blue streamers.

The groom’s niece, Miss Delores Tomkowiak, was first bridesmaid, in a gown of pink with overskirt of marquisette and carried a bouquet of pink carnations, roses and sweet peas gathered with a pink ribbon.

Best man was Tony Wink, brother of the bride, and the second attendant of the groom was Norbert Osowski. The groom and attendants all wore the conventional blue with white carnation boutonnieres and blue ties.

Miss Leatrice Shortell, bridesmaid, was attired in pink taffeta with overskirt of pink.

Little Carol Jean Chmelik and Patsy Orzechowski, as flower girls, carried bouquets of carnations, roses and sweet peas with pink and blue streamers, and wore identical gowns of white satin with sweetheart neckline and blue flowers at the bottom of the skirt.

A wedding reception was held after the ceremony at the home of the bride’s father and a dance was given in the American legion Hall in the evening.

The groom is employed at the Western Condensery of Owen.

Out of town guests at the event were: Mrs. Dale Windsor of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Tomkowiak of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Chmelik and family of Cornell; Edward Czernicki of Delavan; Mrs. Elizabeth Peters and Mrs. Mary Mars of Kimberly; Mrs. Frank Shortell and Leatrice Shortell of Vesper; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller of Greenwood, and Geo. Sommers of Loyal.
