Staffon, Leo Martin (4 May 1899 - 15 December 1970)

Funeral serviced for Leo Martin Staffon, 1014 Hewett Street, Neillsville, will be held Saturday December 19 at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. Friends may call beginning Friday morning. The Rev. George Yons of the United Church of Christ will officiate and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Mr. Staffon, 71, died Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Mr. Staffon was born May 4, 1899, in Jackson County to Charles and Louisa (Galster) Staffon. He was married January 23, 1929, in Oconomowoc to the former Alvina Graff, who survives him. He grew up in Alma Center area and attended the South Alma School. Mr. Staffon worked in Milwaukee and drove truck for the Advance Transport Company for 21 years. He was later employed by Plautz Brothers, and for the past few years was an employee of the City of Neillsville. Mr. Staffon was a member of the Neillsville United Church of Christ.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Mrs. Harry (Delores) Harwick, Mrs. Robert (JoAnn) Lynch and Gilbert Staffon, all of Neillsville, and Mrs. Howard (Betty Ann) Scott of Marshfield, and by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his step-mother, Mrs. Leona Staffon of Black River Falls, by two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Ely of Manitowoc and Miss Cecilie Staffon of Eau Claire, and by two brothers, Lloyd Staffon of Monroe and Lester Staffon of Alma Center.
