Jerome "Jerry" C. Christophersen, 75, of Withee died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield after being admitted there Dec. 8, 2008.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. The Rev. Bonnie Cain, Authorized Minister, will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen and Wednesday at the church in Withee from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Jerome "Jerry" C. Christophersen, 75, of Withee, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield after being admitted there Dec. 8, 2008.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. The Rev. Bonnie J. Cain, authorized minister, will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen and Wednesday at the church in Withee from 10 a.m. until time of service. Serving as his pallbearers will be Corey and Dillin Christophersen, Travis and Clayton O'Kelly, Luke and Kyle VanWinkle. His honorary pallbearers will be Brianne and Emily Christophersen.

Jerry was born Oct. 30, 1933, in the town of Longwood to Chris and Nora (Smith) Christophersen. He attended Moody School in Longwood until the eighth grade. After his schooling, he farmed and held various other jobs, including driving both school bus and fuel truck in the area. On March 19, 1955, Jerry married the former Arleen Hoffman at Ebenezer Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Cleveland. Following his marriage, Jerry continued to farm and in 1963 began working for what is now Foremost Foods as a truck driver. His retirement from Foremost came in 1996.

In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting and tractor pulling. One of his greatest loves, besides his family, was his tractors. He loved working on them, restoring them and buying and selling them. Over his lifetime, Jerry had owned and restored hundreds of tractors.

He was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee, was a member of the Cloverland Antique Tractor Club, was a board member of the town of Longwood and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron of Lublin Post No. 547.

Jerry is survived by his children, Lynn (Rory) VanWinkle of Withee, Chris (Cindy) Christophersen of Dorchester, Cheryl (Pat) O'Kelly of Hewitt, Steven (Julie Slobodnik) of Withee, JoJo (Patti) Christophersen of Withee, and Kim (Marty Reinking) Christophersen of Withee. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Scott (Carol) Christophersen of Blaine, Wash., Gay (Leona) Christophersen of Withee, Deborah (Arleigh) Granzow of Hamilton, Ala., and Allan (Virginia) Christophersen of Withee.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arleen; and a daughter, Jana.
