McHugh, Patricia (Marriage - 30 Aug. 1958)

Miss Patricia McHugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter McHugh of Edgar, Rt. 3, and Leon Sazama, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sazama of Colby, Rt. 1, were united in marriage at a 9:00 o’clock ceremony Saturday morning at St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Halder. Rev. Eugene Comiskey officiated at the service before an altar decorated with baskets of mixed flowers.

Mr. McHugh gave his daughter in marriage. She wore a gown of pleated nylon and lace styled with long sleeves. Her flowers were a fan shaped bouquet of purple orchids and white stephanotis.

Mrs. Marie Umnus of Stratford was matron of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Carmen Schilling, Miss Janice McHugh and Miss Jean Sazama. They wore gowns of aqua lace styled with short sleeves, scalloped necklines and lace aprons. They carried fan shaped bouquets of flowers.

Gerhard Umnus was best man and groomsmen were James Sazama, Marvin Schilling and Albert Mielke. Ushers were Leonard Valentine Maly and Sylvester Sazama.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride’s home and a breakfast and dinner were held in the church hall.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the couple will make their home on Route 1, Colby, where Mr. Sazama is engaged in farming.
