Gentz, Julius H. (2 Jan. 1895 - 5 July 1958)

Julius H. Gentz of Abbotsford, a former resident of Colby, died of a heart attack Saturday afternoon at his home in Abbotsford at the age of 63 years. Short services were held Monday at 1:00 P.M. at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wis., Rev. Holtzhausen of Stetsonville officiating. The body was taken to Shawano where funeral services were held at St. James Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 P.M. Internment was made in Woodlawn Cemetery at Shawano.

Mr. Gentz was born in January 2, 1895 in Shawano. In April, 1917, he married Katherine Weidner of Bowler. Prior to his marriage, he taught school. In 1945, he went to Shawano where he took up farming. For several years, he and his son, Morton, operated a grocery store in Colby which they sold in 1952 and then Mr. and Mrs. Julius Gentz moved to Abbotsford where Mr. Gentz was employed at the Streckert Manufacturing Co. plant.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Milton Gentz of Highland and Morton Gentz of Gillett; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Leila) Doran of Shawano; one brother, Frank Gentz of Wabeno; two sisters, Cecelia Gentz and Mrs. Wilbert (Murine) Carlson, both of Wabeno; nine grand children. One sister preceded him in death.
