Miller, Laura (15 FEB 1870 - 22 JUL 1947)

Mrs. Laura Miller, formerly of South Worden (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Arnold Hundley in Centralia, Wash., on Tuesday, July 22, 1947.

She was born the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Jacob O. Brubaker, Feb. 15, 1870 at Verden, Ill. When a young girl she moved with her parents to McPherson, Kansas. She united with the Brethren Church when quite young.

In 1892 she married Wm. R. Miller in Oklahoma. To this union seven children were born, three of which died in infancy. Those surviving are: John of Thorp; Myrtle (Mrs. Albert Mattheisen) of Marshfield; Bertha (Mrs. Clarence Brower) of Aberdeen, Wash.; and Lottie (Mrs. Lloyd Johnson) of Stanley. Two stepchildren also survive, Joe of Stanley and Emma (Mrs. Charley Musselman) of Kendallville, Ind. Also 39 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary Holdermann, three brothers, Enoch of Hermosa Beach, Calif., Rev. Wm. R. of Live Oak, Calif.; and Charles of Arrow wood, Canada.

They moved to this community in 1918, where they lived until her husband’s death Nov. 9, 1938. Since then she has lived with her children until four and one-half years ago she went to make her home with her granddaughter at whose home she died.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. S. Fulton of the Church of God. Interment was made in Mountain View Cemetery.

A trio consisting of J. A. Norman, Mrs. H. B. Wilson and Mrs. C. A. Barton, accompanied by Mrs. Rita Dunn at the organ, sang "Closer My Child: and "Angels Bore Our Loved One Home."

Pallbearers were: Louis Hemerway, James Tribbett, J. A. Blankenship, Ralph Rolson, Clarence Barton and Gilbert Louden.
