St. Hedwig’s Church, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., when Miss Loretta, daughter of Mrs. Katherine Filipek, and Harry Burzynski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Burzynski of Thorp, Wis., were united in marriage by Rev. Francis Piekarski in a double ring ceremony at ten o’clock.

The church altars were beautifully decorated with garden flowers and candlelight. Baskets of tulips, peonies and bridal wreath adorned the entrance of the bridal party.

The Sisters of St. Hedwig’s Church played the wedding march and were assisted by Mrs. F. P. Neiman in singing "Ave Maria", "O Sweet Jesus" and "Beautiful Mary".

During the solemn part of the ceremony, Miss Rita Slupski present the bride with a bouquet of white gladiolas which she carried to the altar of the Blessed Virgin.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her brother, Chester. Her gown was of white satin trimmed with medallions. It was fashioned with a slim bodice and full length sleeves pointed at the wrists. The gathered skirt extended into a long train. Her long veil edged with medallions fell from a crown of Orange blossoms and she carried an arm bouquet of calla lilies and white roses presented to her by her mother. Her only jewelry was a rhinestone choker, a gift of the groom.

Miss Henrietta Filipek, sister of the bride, was first bridesmaid and also acted as maid of honor. The bridesmaids, Jeanette Slupski, cousin of the bride, Frances and Delores Burzynski, sisters of the groom, and Loraine Strzok, cousin of the bride, were attired in pink and blue marquisette respectively, with matching flowered headdress. They carried bouquets of Johanna Hill roses. Each wore a beautiful rhinestone neckpiece, a gift of the bride.

The groom wore a tuxedo and a white rose boutonniere. He was attended by his brother Peter Burzynski, as best man. The other attendants were Edwin Filipek, brother of the bride, Benny Pawlak, friend of the groom, Andrew Burzynski, cousin of the groom and Stanley Sumiec, cousin of the bride. They all wore tuxedos and a white carnation boutonniere.

After leaving the altar to the strains of the wedding march, the bride and groom were met by Barbara Zasacki as surprise flower girl.

The bride’s mother wore a grey dress with white accessories, and the groom’s mother wore a black dress with white accessories. Each wore a corsage of American Beauty roses. The bride’s grandmother was dressed in brown and wore a corsage of pink and white carnations.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the P.N.A. Hall with about 300 persons attending.

The newlywed will reside in Chicago.
