Guzniczak, Wanda (12 JAN 1947)

A very pretty wedding took place at St. Helen’s Church, 2315 W. Augusta Blvd., Chicago, Ill., at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, 1947, when Miss Wanda Guzniczak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Guzniczak of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Joseph Sawczuk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sawczuk, Greenwood (Clark Co.).

The bride was attired in a gown of white satin and a long trailing veil framed to a crown of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white roses and orchids and wore a necklace, a gift from the groom.

The groom’s sister, Frances Sawczuk, as maid of honor, wore a light blue woolen crepe dress and carried a bouquet of red carnations. The bridesmaids, Irene Olszewicki and Harriet Karwacki, both sisters of the bride, and Rose Sawczuk, sister of the groom, were dressed in fuschia woolen crepe gowns and carried bouquets of blue carnations. The girls all wore plumes in their hair and rhinestone chokers and earrings, a gift from the bride.

The groom and his attendants, Stanley Sawczuk, William Karwacki and Joseph Strojny wore tuxedos.

The bride’s mother wore a dress of deep aqua and the groom’s mother wore a dark green dress both wearing a corsage of carnations.

The reception was held at the Banicki Hall, 1101 N. Damen Ave., for 175 relatives and friends.

The couple will make their home in Chicago, where both are employed.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mrs. Frank Sawczuk and daughter Frances of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. G. Daniel, Detroit, Mich.; F. Stachura, East Chicago, Ind.; and Leo Balcer, Perham, Minn.
