Pflughoeft, Ethel Ella (May 27, 1910 -10 September 2013)

Ethel E. Pflughoeft, 103, of Neillsville died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at the Neillsville care and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Ethel Ella Stelloh was born May 27, 1910, the daughter of Edward and Martha (Dahl) Stelloh in the Township of Levis. She attended the Silver Crest School. She was united in marriage to Leo Pflughoeft April 6, 1932. Together they raised their family and farmed in the Township of Pine Valley. Ethel loved to garden, pick berries, can her harvest and crochet. No one left her house hungry, as there was always a wonderful meal to be found on her table. Leo died Sept. 13, 1993, and in 1994 Ethel sold the farm and moved to an apartment in Neillsville. Ethel was a member of the United Church of Christ in Neillsville and its Ladies Aid.

She is survived by a son, Donald Pflughoeft of Loyal; three daughters, Betty Aumann of Sussex, Mary (David) Pietenpol of Lake Holcombe and Pat Keller of Bloomington, MN; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons-in-law, Ken Keller and Don Aumann; and a daughter-in-law, Hazel Pflughoeft.

Serving as casketbearers for Ethel were Dale Pflughoeft, David Aumann, Michael Pietenpol, John Pietenpol, Kendall Hemish and Andrew Kline.

Funeral services for Ethel were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pastor Jacoba Koppert officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
