Fulwiler, Amos P. (27 June 1870 - 1950)

Word has been received here of the death of Amos P. Fulwiler, 80, a correspondent for The Press many years and a former resident of the Town of York.

Mr. Fulwiler was born in Washington County June 27, 1870, and came with his parents to the Town of York, when he was 12 years old. He was married on June 4, 1896, to Jennie Belle Rowe who died in 1938. During the years when he resided in the Town of York, Mr. Fulwiler was an active member of York Center Methodist Church, where he was superintendent of the Sunday school for several years. He also was treasurer of the Town of York for several years and was clerk of the lodge of Modern Woodmen of America for 35 years. He moved from the Town of York to Iron Mountain, Mich. in 1924.

He is survived by his son, Dale, a daughter, Mrs. William Edens of Capron, Ill., a sister, Mrs. George Rowe of Milwaukee, three brothers, William of Green Bay, Adolph of Milwaukee and Edward of Loyal.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 3, from the Methodist Church at Iron Mountain. Burial was made in the Quinnesee Cemetery.

Pallbearers were four grandsons, Melvin Franke, Donald Edens, Douglas Edens, Delbert Edens and two nephews, Merton Fulwiler of Loyal and Milford Rowe of Granton.

Those from away attending the funeral were: Mrs. William Edens and two sons, Delbert and Darrel of Capron, Ill.; Adolph Fulwiler, Mrs. Elizabeth Rowe, Mrs. William Leonard, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. William Fulwiler, Mr. and Mrs. Merton Fulwiler and son of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bandelow of Menomonie; Lynn Rowe of Minocqua, Milford Rowe, Mrs. Verla Dahl, all of Granton; and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Voight of Neillsville.
