The Lutheran Ladies’ Aid will meet at the home of Mrs. Frank Bermitt Thursday, July 12. Mrs. Eggebrecht will assist in serving.

Mrs. J. A. Boyle and daughters, of Joliet, Ill., who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stoughton, returned home Saturday, June 30.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward Brown, Menomonee, Mich., recently announced the engagement of their daughter, Ella, to Gilbert Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderson of that city.

Mrs. Rolan Braun and daughter, June are visiting at the home of Mrs. Braun’s father, Adrian Verhagen at Child.

Paulding Smith, Chippewa Falls, was a business caller here Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Braun spent Saturday at the Ed Marg home at Chili.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Apfelbeck, of Riverside, are rejoicing over the birth of a boy June 19.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fricke, of Cherokee, spent Sunday evening visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Demand. Mrs. Demand is a sister of Mrs. Fricke.

The Christian Endeavors of the Presbyterian Church gave a picnic Monday afternoon at Cherokee park in honor of former members of the society who are spending vacations at home.

Mrs. Oscar Mellen, Fond du Lac, is visiting at the home of her father, Mr. Baker, this week.

Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson and Mrs. Clara Geiger spent Sunday at Athens.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dolan and daughter, Mary Jane and Mrs. Clarence Dolan and two little daughters motored to Marathon City Sunday evening.

Miss Viola Babler left for Marshfield Monday after a visit of several days at the Orin Perry home and with other friends here.

Mrs. Carl Gust and children are making an extended visit with relatives at Fond du Lac.

Rev. L. C. Smith was a visitor at Edgar Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blake and daughter, Geraldine and Mrs. Skiff left Wednesday morning on a motor trip to Dubuque, Iowa.

S. J. Paynier, who is attending the summer session at the Central State Teachers’ College, Stevens Point, spent the week end here with his family.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ingersoll, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ward and son, Jack, New London, and Miss Virginia Ward and C. Ward, St. Joseph, Michigan, were Sunday guests at the Miss Nettie Clark and C. L. Ingersoll homes. Miss Ruth Ingersoll, who has been visiting here for the past week, returned to her home at New London with them.

Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Ingersoll, of Marshfield, spent the week end at the home of Miss Nettie Clark.

Miss Mina Hunt of Dorcheser spent Monday and Tuesday visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. C. V. Hinke.

Miss Eva Barker returned home Saturday after visiting at the home of her niece, Mrs. Cecil Oehler at Park Falls.

Mrs. L. C. Smith filled the pulpit at the Presbyterian church at Edgar Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Mauritz and Mrs. Gordon Phaneuf and four children drove to St. Point Tuesday.

Miss Beryl Funk of Withee spent the past several days at the Chas. Hinke home.

Mr. and Mrs. John Mueller and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Benz and family, Miss Nettie Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Miller and son, Walter, spent the Fourth at Sackett’s Lake.

Mrs. Geo. Richland and sons, Gordon and James and Mrs. Carlson of Ashland, visited Mrs. A. J. Calkins and Mrs. Lottie La Londe, Monday afternoon.
