John Richard Crossen, son of Mary and Bernard Crossen, was born in the town of Little Falls, Monroe county, on Dec. 13, 1891, and had reached the age of 52 years and seven days. At the age of eight years he came to Clark county with his parents and lived in the vicinity of Loyal for six years before his parents moved to Moline, Ill. There he finished his education and entered the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he graduated from the dairy course. He was employed as a butter maker until he enlisted in the World war. He served overseas 22 months. After his return home, he was employed at the Rock Island arsenal until the death of his mother. Then he and his father moved to Sparta, where he made his home until last February. His health then failed him, and he came to Loyal and made his home with his sister, Mrs. G. V. Weyhmiller.

He is survived by three brothers, George and Edward of Seattle, Wash., and Clifford of Indianapolis, Ind., and one sister, Kathryn Weyhmiller, of Loyal.

The Tribune adds its sympathy to that of friends and neighbors to the bereaved relatives.
