Rib Lake--Frank W. Ranta, 98, Lakeworth, Fla., formerly from the town of Spirit, died Thursday at the American Finnish Nursing Home in Lakeworth.

Services were held today at the town of Spirit Baptist Church. The Rev. Carl Grothkob officiated. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in the town of Spirit.

The Dallman Funeral Home, Rib Lake, handled arrangements.

He was born June 17,1889 in Finland. He was married three times. His first two wives are deceased.

He moved to the Gary-Hammond, Indiana's, area at age 19. He worked in the steel mills until he moved to Brantwood in 1939. He then farmed until his retirement in 1960. He moved to Florida in 1975.

He is survived by his wife, Aura; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Ilmi) Nelson of the town of Spirit, and Mrs. Bertha DuBroc of Sepulveda, Calif.; two sons, Veikko of Clear Water, Fla., and Sulo of Griffith, Ind.; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, his first two wives, one daughter and one son.
