Clara Fillipeck was born on Oct. 23, 1919, in Oglesby, Ill., to Frank and Anna (nee Nowak) Fillipeck. When she was 9, her family moved to the Thorp area where she received her education. She married Dewey Williams on June 16, 1941, in Neillsville. Together they farmed in the town of Reseburg for a short time before moving to Withee. They returned to the town of Reseburg 12 years later and operated the family farm until their retirement. Her husband passed away on Feb. 27, 1993. She continued to live on the farm until moving to the city of Thorp in 2005. She loved life and the time spent surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, both vegetables and flowers of all kinds, especially gladiolus. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans, cross-stitching, and canning. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Withee Garden Club.

Survivors include her four children, Rollin (Kathy) Williams, New Berlin, Shirley Williams, Thorp, James (Diane) Williams, Willard, and Darrel (Meg) Williams, Thorp; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Dewey; one son, Richard Williams; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Noeldner; and two sisters, Martha Robinson and Mary Zeke.
