Wallick, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett E. (Golden - 22 September 1970)

Mr. and Mrs. Emmett E. Wallick, Rt. 3 Greenwood, celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary with an open house at the Zion United Church of Christ from 2 to 4 p.m. last Saturday. The celebration was planned a month early so that relatives from a distance could attend.

Emmett Wallick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Wallick, Lincoln, Nebr., and Isabelle Hoyle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Hoyle, also of Lincoln, were married September 22, 1920, at the Hoyle home. They lived in Lincoln until 12930, when they moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where they lived until 1955. They then resided in San Bernardino, Calif., until 1961, when Mr. Wallick retired and came to live in Greenwood.

Mr. Wallick was born September 22, 1899, in Lincoln and was educated there. His hobbies have been woodworking and gardening. Mrs. Wallick also was born in Lincoln, on September 6, 1900, and received her education there. Her hobbies are sewing and gardening.

The couple is members of the Zion United Church of Christ. He has been a member of the Masonic Lodge for many years and served as Past Master of the Greenwood Lodge. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wallick are members of Chapter No. 137, Order of the Eastern Star and have served as Worthy Patron and Worthy Matron.

Mr. and Mrs. Wallick are the parents of five daughters and a son. They have 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Their son, Edwin resides in Colorado Springs, Colo. Their daughters are: Mrs. George (Dorothy) Cleverly of Buena Park, Calif., Mrs. Fred (Elma Mae) Hilton of Withee, Mrs. Thomas (Mary Lou) Querin of Greenwood, Mrs. Vernon (Margaret) Kuester of Eleva, and Mrs. William N. (Susan) Olson of Amherst.

On Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Wallick entertained at a dinner for a family gathering at their home. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Querin of Mt. Dora, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. George Cleverly of Buena Park, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hilton and family of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Querin and family of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Kuester and sons of Eleva and Mr. and Mrs. William N. Olson and daughter of Amherst.
