Regal, Marlea B. (20 Jan. 1909 - 22 Aug. 1999)

Marlea B. Regal, 90, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Sunday, August 22, at the Marshfield Center. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, at Alliance Missionary Church in Marshfield with Rev. Jim Medin officiating. Burial will take place in Restlawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids.

Hansen Funeral Home in Marshfield is handling arrangements.

The former Marlea B. Thayer was born January 20, 1909 in Unity to Harley H. and Elnora (Graham) Thayer. She attended Unity schools and graduated from Unity High School, Marathon County Teachers Normal School and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Her marriage to Sewell A. Cook took place on August 2, 1928, and he preceded her in death. On January 2, 1980, she married Harvey Regal in Wausau.

She taught for several years in rural schools in Marathon and Wood County. She was a member of the Methodist churches in Unity, Medford and Wisconsin Rapids where she held various positions. She was currently a member of Alliance Missionary Church and the Christian Women's Club.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey; two sons, Robert S. (Anna D.) Cook of Green Bay and Ray A. (Nancy C.) Cook of Waukesha; a brother, Graham (Cleo) Thayer of Alma Center; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Sewell Cook; and a grandson, Bradford Cook.

Memorials may be designated to the Alliance Missionary Church or the National Diabetes Association.
