Engel, Angeline M. (18 JUN 1946)

Tuesday, June 18, 1946, Angeline Mercedes Engel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Engel of Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.), and Henry H. Hamm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hamm of the Town of Hoard (Clark Co.), were united in a lovely wedding ceremony taking place in the rectory of St. Louis Catholic Church at Dorchester, Wis. The Rev. Fr. Phillip T. Weller read the ceremony.

For the occasion the bride wore a lovely gown of white brocaded nylon with a sweetheart neckline and three quarter length sleeves, and a three quarter length veil, edged in lace, and wore a beaded headdress. She carried a colorful bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Attending her were her sister, Mrs. Sylvia Engel, as maid of honor, who wore a gown of pink net over satin skirt, and a lace bodice. Bridesmaids Mrs. Ernest Neitzel, Curtiss, and Mrs. Wm. Hamm, Medford, were dressed in blue brocaded rayon. They all carried bouquets of pink and red carnations.

The groom was attended by best man Robert Plockeman of Milwaukee and groomsmen Wm. Hamm, Medford and Ernest Neitzel, Curtiss.

That evening a supper was given at the home of the bride for guests of the couple. The table centerpiece was a large three tier wedding cake, and the home itself was appropriately decorated in keeping with the occasion.

The groom is a veteran of the last war, serving from Feb. 1943 until Nov. 19, 1945. He saw overseas duty in the European theatre of operations. The couple will make their home on the groom’s farm.

Out of town guests at the ceremony were Robert Plockeman, Clem Steinfort, Mrs. John Steinfort and Miss Marion Steinfort, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
