Wagner, Helmuth A. (7 January 1903 - 21 April 1949)

Masonic rites were held at the Temple for Helmuth A. Wagner, 46, Cleveland, O. last Thursday afternoon. The services were conducted by the Masonic Lodge, No. 163, F. & A. M. Worshipful Master Ivan Lauscher and Gustave Deutsch officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Helmuth Wagner was born in Neillsville January 7, 1903. He received his education in the schools here, graduating from Neillsville High School in 1922. He attended Marquette University for five years. He taught in the East Technical High School at Cleveland for 12 years, and worked for a Cleveland engineering firm for the next four years. He taught classes in a night school during this latter period. His profession was that of design control engineer.

He was a member of the First Church of Christ and of the Neillsville Masonic Lodge.

He was married to Alma Steurwald in June, 1929, at Cleveland. Two daughters were born to this union, Lois and Marsha.

Surviving besides his wife and two daughters are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wagner of Neillsville; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Walter (Francis) Oelke of Cornell; Mrs. A. (Hilda) Carlson of Chicago; Theodore Wagner of Cadott; William Wagner, Jr., Cornell; and Jack Wagner, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Two sisters preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were: Harry Hauge, George Prochazka, Adolph Unger, Bob Wagner, Raymond Arndt and William Ruchaber.

Among those from out-of-town attending the services were: Mrs. Alma Wagner and daughters, Lois and Marsha, of Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Oelke, Billy and Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. William E. Wagner of Cornell; Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner, Walter and Howard Oelke, Carl Hauge, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Voight and son, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Clara Reichert and Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Reichert of La Crosse.

Mrs. Oscar Beyer, Sr., of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jahr, Oxford; Mrs. Bertha Linster, Chicago; Mrs. A. I. Carlson, Villa Park, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wagner, Cadott; Mr. and Mrs. William Brickheimer, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thur, Fairchild; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Beyer, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Wagner, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jahr, Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Eide, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jahr of Granton.

Mrs. Gordon Thur, Mrs. Louie Meinholdt, Mrs. Willis Brickheimer and Mrs. Delmont Pederson had charge of the flowers.
