Daley, William #3 (27 MAY 1889 - 29 NOV 1939)

Masonic funeral rites for William Daley were held Sunday afternoon at 12:30 o’clock at the Armory. The Rev. L. C. Smith delivered the funeral sermon. A male quartet composed of Aldro Jenks, S. J. Paynter, Merle Jenks and A. J. Folstad, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Wm. Berger, sang two hymns, "Abide With Me" and "Fairest Lord Jesus."

The pallbearers were Walter Jackson, Paul Waech, Charles Hoffman, Frank Wing, Orrin Perry, Harry Ketcham, Dr. J. A. Rilling and J. B. Wing. The many and beautiful floral offerings were carried by the members of Order of Eastern Star.

Following the services at the Armory the funeral cortege went to Tomahawk where interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Relatives from away who attended the funeral were his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Daley, Kansas City, Mo., and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stelzel and family, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lamer Jr., Tomahawk; Joseph Lamer Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lamer, Heaford Junction; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Andershak, Wausau and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bahr and family, and Miss Florence Stelzel, Monroe.

Friends at the services included Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Delie and Hugo Deseley, Appleton; Mrs. Frank Bauer and daughter of Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Aldro Jenks, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Randall and Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Perry, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zimmer, Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sauter, Dorchester; Harvey Haugen, Minocqua; and members of the firms of the Marathon Finance Corp. and Hall Garage co., Wausau.

William Henry Daley was born in Mitchell, S. D., May 27, 1889. On Oct. 9, 1913 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Lamer at Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.). The young couple made their home in Wyeville where Mr. Daley was a boilermaker for the Northwestern Railway.

In 1920 the family moved here. Together Mr. Daley and George Kelsey operated the Chevrolet garage. Nine years ago they dissolved partnership and Mr. Daley then became the sole proprietor of the Daley Super Service garage and filling station.

Mr. Daley was stricken with a heart attack while deer hunting at Little Rice Fur Farm, Oneida Co., Town of Lynn. He has shot his buck on Sunday but tramped through the wood, Tuesday, with other members of the party. On Tuesday evening he suffered a severe heart attack and another on Wednesday morning, Nov. 29, which caused his death at ten o’clock, at the age of 50.
