Noeldner, Carol (15 Apr 1965 civil ceremony-05 Feb 1966 consecration ceremony )

The consecration of a civil marriage, which took place April 15, 1965 in New York City was performed for the former Miss Carol Annette Noeldner of Greenwood and Barry Allan Johnson, formerly of Rice Lake, on Saturday, February 5, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.

The Rev. Willis Gertner officiated and arrangements of flowers, ferns and candelabra were on the altar. Jerry Evinrude of Eau Claire was organist and the soloist, John Weber of Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, sang “Every Valley Shall Be Exalted” from “The Messiah” and “Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.”

Mr. Noeldner gave his daughter in marriage. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Noeldner, route 1, Greenwood and R. and Mrs Harris Johnson of Rice Lake. The consecration serice is a service in which the blessings of the church, family and friends are bestowed upon a civil marriage

The bride wore a white lace over satin sheath with a chiffon overskirt falling from an empire waist and a lace mantilla veil set over a pillbox headpiece. Her flowers were white glamellias arrangement.

Miss Kristine Noeldner, Eau Claire served as maid of honor, Mrs. Arlyn Turnquist, Wausau and Misses Beatrice and Helen Noeldner, Eau Claire, bridesmaids.

Their dresses were of blue-lavender Georgian wool having scoop necklines and straight floor-length skirts with box pleats in the back and pearl and embroidery trim on the empire waist. Each carried long stemmed roses. Mindy Johnson of Rice Lake served as flower girl.

Attending the groom were Martin Hansen, Madison as best man, Arlyn Turnquist, Wausau; Norm White, New Rochelle, New York; and Charles Solberg, New York City, as groomsmen. Ivan Braun, Elyria, Ohio; Paul Noeldner, Greenwood and Van Johnson, Rice Lake, did the ushering duties.

A reception was held in the church parlors following the ceremony.

The bride graduated in January of this year from Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire and Mr. Johnson from the same school in January of 1965. He also attended Luther College for two years and is now a student at Union Theological Seminary in New York.

Their honeymoon is the trip back to New York City, where they will reside at 339 105th St., New York City.

Relatives and friends attended the wedding from New York City and New Rochelle, New York; Chicago, Illinois; Minneapolis, Anoka and LeSuer, Minnesota; Eleva, Ohio; Eau Claire, Madison, Rice Lake; Wausau, Colfax, Marshfield, Thorp, Greenwood, and Loyal.
