Blake, Geraldine (30 MAR 1939)

Miss Geraldine Blake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Blake, and John Robert Gagnelius, son of M. E. Gagnelius of Marshfield, were united in marriage Thursday March 30th, 1939, in St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. The nuptials were performed by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. J. Dorenbach at a 9:00 mass.

For the ceremony the bride was attired in a pastel blue suit of lightweight wool and wore a straw hat of dubonnet with brief face veil. Other accessories were carried out in dubonnet. The bride’s corsage combined roses and sweet peas, and she carried a prayer book.

Miss Rita Gagnelius, sister of the bride, and Harold Niehoff of Marshfield attended the couple. Miss Gagnelius wore a gray crepe dress with gray for cape and accessories similar to the bride’s.

Following the nuptial mass a wedding breakfast was served to immediate relatives and friends at the home of the bride’s parents. Easter lilies and other spring flowers decorated the residence for the occasion.

Mr. Gagnelius and his bride left on a trip in Milwaukee and Chicago enroute to Des Moines, Iowa, where they will be at home after April 10. The bridegroom has accepted a position as salesman for the Jung Shoe Co.

Mrs. Gagnelius was a former resident of Abbotsford, having moved to Marshfield with her parents about four years ago.
