Nickel, Virginia (Marriage - 5 September 1948)

Miss Virginia Ann Nickel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Nickel of R4, Neillsville, became the bride of Frank Robert Tykac, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Robert Tykac of Marshfield at services in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church September 5, (1948). The service was read by the Rev. William Lauterbach, pastor of the church.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a white taffeta gown styled with long sleeves, round yoke and bouffant skirt, entrained. Her veil was caught to a pearl headdress. She carried a bridal bouquet of roses.

Maid-of-honor was her sister, Miss Jean Nickel of Neillsville, who was dressed in a yellow gown. Bridesmaids were Miss Lorraine Brehiem of Milwaukee, in blue and Miss Ruth Garbisch of Granton, in pink.

Donald Tykac of Marshfield served as bestman for his brother. Groomsmen were Herbert W. Nickel, Jr., brother of the bride, and Raymond Gluck of Granton. Ushers were Norman and Donald Helm of Granton.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Tykac are graduates of Granton High School. The groom is employed in the Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, and the bride is employed by the Boson Construction Company. They plan to make their home at 501 N. Maple Street, Marshfield, following a wedding trip through Wisconsin and Illinois.

Himsel, Mr. and Mrs. George Schrage, Mr. and Mrs. William Maas, and Miss Clara Pflughoeft, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Luck and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meier, Neillsville.
