Haas, Bernice E. (Marriage - 8 September 1948)

Bernice E. Haas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Haas of Thorp, became the bride of Harvey A. Seaman, son of Mrs. Arthur Seaman of Thorp, at a double-ring ceremony performed at 10 a.m. September 8 (1948) in the rectory of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp. The service was read by the Rev. Fr. A. M. Muckerheide.

The bride wore a gown of white satin with long sleeves and trimmed with lace. Her fingertip veil was edged in lace and ended in a long train. She carried a bridal bouquet of white gladioli and ‘mums.

The matron of honor was Lucille Lorenz and bridesmaid was Elaine Miller. LaVerne Haas, brother of the bride, acted as best man. Also attending the groom was Glen Petska. Ring bearer was Eugene Butterfield; and Nancy Anderson was the flower girl.

A reception was held for 52 guests at the American Legion Hall in Thorp, following which the bridal couple left for a wedding trip to La Crosse.

The groom is employed as a truck driver for the Western Condensing Company at Owen.

Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Butterfield and sons of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. John Rossman of Gilman; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lorenz of Edson; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mouhca and family of Cadott; and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Seaman of Greenwood.
