Miller, Fred N. (11 Mar. 1890 - 30 Aug. 1956)

Fred N. Miller, a former farmer-blacksmith, who has been living in retirement in Unity for the past six years, died of a heart attack at his home last Thursday morning at the age of 66 years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Trinity Lutheran church in Unity, Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Orville Schultz, Emil Tober, Emil and Salem Johnson, Joe Olson and Ed Mews.

Mr. Miller was born in the town of Green Grove on March 11, 1890. He operated a blacksmith shop in Unity for five years and then engaged in farming in the town of Colby for 30 years before he retired and moved to Unity where he built a new home.

Surviving are his wife, the former Augusta Monthe; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Adeline) Johnson and Mrs. Donald (Isabel) Ziegahn of Marshfield, Mrs. Harland (Lucille) Gorman and Mrs. Byron (Lorraine) Armstrong of Milwaukee; one son, Raymond, who operates the home farm on Route 1, Unity; 12 grand children; one brother, Joseph, a patient at a Madison hospital.

A daughter, Bernice, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
