Pilcher, Agnes (6 February 1913 - 17 August 1948)

Agnes Wetzel Pilcher, 35, of Wheatland, Wyo. died August 17, 1948, in the Wheatland hospital, after an illness of one week’s duration. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, August 24, at 1:30 p.m. in the Georgas Funeral Home, and at 2:00 p.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William Baumann officiating. Burial took place in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Pilcher was born Agnes Wetzel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wetzel, February 6, 1913, in Fort Atkinson, Wis. She moved to Neillsville during her childhood and attended Neillsville High School, she later attended a school of nursing in Bismarck, N. D. and for the past nine years has been a nurse in the Wheatland, Wyo., hospital, where she died.

She was married to Richard Pilcher, whom she later divorced and had one son, Gary.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wetzel of Neillsville, and by four sisters: Mrs. Bill (Mildred) Bosman of Chicago; Mrs. Russell (Marian) Holton of Arlington, Vt.; Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Godwin of Newport, N. C.; Mrs. Oscar (Evelyn) Walk of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were all cousins; Louis, Art, and August Nemitz, Ronald and Marvin Meihak and Walter Wetzel.

Mrs. Robert Harvey and Mrs. Henry Rahn were the flower ladies. Mrs. William Baumann sang "Asleep in Jesus," accompanied by Victor Lehman.

Out-of-town persons attending the funeral were Mrs. Marian Holton and son of Arlington, Vt., Mr. and Mrs. William Bosman, and Mr. and Mrs. Engle of Chicago.
