Green, Willard (25 September 1921 - 5 July 1948)

Full military honors were accorded the funeral services July 8, (1948) at 2:00 p.m. at the Georgas Funeral Home for Willard Green, veteran of World War II who was killed by a train July 5 (1948).

Body bearers and honorary bearers were all members of the services. Body bearers were Delbert Struble, Thomas Flynn, Earl Darling, Claude Ayers, Geroge Campbell and Norman DeCremer. Honorary bearers were Charles Swenson, Laverne Zschernitz, Harris Schoengarth, Robert Gress, Gerold Schoenherr and Louis Zschernitz.

The Firing squad, color guard and color bearers were made up of V.F.W. and American Legion members. They were: Melvin Meier, Robert Herian, Anton Beichler, P. C. Ludovic, Orville Jake, Leon Stanley, J. D. Cummings, Ollie Moffatt, Herman Moen, Joe Cardarelle, Henry Naedler, William Ormond and Mike Cardarelle.

Flower ladies were Mrs. L. J. Chapman, Mrs. Gladys Gillard and Mrs. T. Butler. Mr. Henry Elmhorst accompanied by Mrs. Elmhorst, sang two selections, "Jesus Whispers Peace" and "Beyond the Sunset."

From out-of-town came Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Green, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Bates and family, all of Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Saxe, Mr. and Mrs. Scott, Clarence Raether, Miss Eula Raether, all of Eau Claire; Mrs. Gladys Quinn of Milwaukee; Mrs. Charles Hubbard and Mrs. Lucille Marsh of Hayward; Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Clauson of Worthington, Minn.

Willard Leonard Greene was born 25 Sept 1921, died 6 July 1948 per his death certif. V22, page 220.

His parents were Anson and Esther (Anderson) Greene.
