Grammer, Mary Dona (Marriage - 1 Aug. 1956)

Miss Mary Dona Grammer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Grammer of Colby, and Warren Alfred German, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley German of Curtiss, were united in marriage, Wednesday, Aug. 1, in St. John’s Catholic church at Wuertsburg, Rev. Burggraf officiating at the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Marion German of Medford, sister-in-law of the groom, was matron of honor and Jean Helen Lord of Clintonville, cousin of the bride, and Josephine Jahnke of Marshfield, another cousin, were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by his brother, Marvin German of Medford, as best man and his cousin, Neal Melvin of Abbotsford, and his friend, Dale Thompson of Curtiss, as groomsmen. Elaine Kaisershot of Marathon, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl and Dennis Grammer, brother of the bride, was ring bearer.

The bride was attired in a white floor-length gown with a full permanent pleated skirt, off the shoulder pleated V-neck, short sleeves and lace from the bodice to below the waist. Her finger-tip veil of lace edging was held in place with a crown headpiece of mother of pearl sequins. Her bouquet consisted of lilies and pale pink roses with white stephanotis.

The matron of honor wore an aqua dress with her strapless bodice and full ruffled skirt, matching lace jacket, headpiece of feathered hat with rhinestones and small veil. Her colonial bouquet consisted of white mums and lilies. The bridesmaids wore dresses styled similar to the matron of honor’s but in yellow and pink, respectively. Their bouquets were also similar. The bride’s mother wore a pale rose dress with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. The groom’s mother wore a medium blue dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink roses.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated with coral pink and white crepe paper streamers and a large wedding bell.

After a wedding trip in Texas and Mexico, the newlyweds expect to be at home after August 15th at Curtiss, Route 1. The groom is employed by E. J. Crane & Sons, Abbotsford, Wis.

Out-of-town guests were from Wausau, Merrill, Marshfield, Clintonville, Owen, Unity, Spencer, Marathon, Milwaukee, Abbotsford, Athens, Edgar, Fenwood, Black River Falls, Medford, Curtiss, Milan and Butler.
