Dins, Rudy W. (27 Dec. 1923 - 6 Aug. 2008)

Rudy W. Dins, 84, Edgar, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 10, at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgar. Rev. LaDonna Ekern will preside. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Edgar cemetery.

Rudy was born December 27, 1923, in Colby, son of the late Otto and Louise (Schumann) Dins.

On September 21, 1953, he married Adeline Lee. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2005.

He worked in construction most of his adult life, retiring from Oscar J. Boldt Construction as a construction superintendent.

Rudy served his country in the United States Navy Armed Guard as a Seamen First Class during World War Two. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Edgar Memorial Post Number 10187 and the American Legion Sawyer-Drumm Post Number 393, Edgar.

He served on the Edgar Village Board and the St. Stephen Lutheran Church Council. He was also instrumental in starting the Little League baseball program in Edgar.

Rudy’s hobbies included woodworking, hunting, fishing and bowling. He enjoyed staying busy with countless woodworking and remodeling projects.

Survivors include his six children, Rich (Sue) Dins, Ron (Michelle) Dins, Kathy (Kevin) Osness, Carol (Greg) Easter, Karen Dins and Kay Dins, all of Wausau; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Bertha Schauer, Spencer and Dorothy Dins, Colby, Wis.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brother, Otto and Fredrick Dins, and one sister, Adleline Krueger.

Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is assisting the family with arrangements.
