NEILLSVILLE -- Lester R. Morrison, 89, of Neillsville and formerly of Loyal, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery, Spencer.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, Aug. 19 at Cuddie Funeral Home, 201 West Mill St., Loyal.

LOYAL -- Lester Ray Morrison, 89, of Neillsville, formerly of Loyal, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal. Burial will follow in West Spencer Cemetery, Spencer. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lester was born Oct. 3, 1918, in Perkinstown to Casper and Lottie (Leakey) Morrison. He married Pearl Kenyon on April 6, 1938, in Wisconsin Rapids. Pearl died on June 20, 1964. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps on May 17, 1944, participating in combat action during World War II at Okinawa and Ryukyu Islands. He worked for the railroad and various construction companies for many years.

Survivors include his five children, Kathryn Kotas, Marshfield, Marlene (Ben Jr.) Mootz, Abbotsford, Linda Elmhorst (Charles Brody), Neillsville, Ray (Donna) Morrison and Jim (Karlyn) Morrison, both of Loyal; 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
