Mayvin M. Hendrickson

Mayvin M. Hendrickson, 87, of Marshfield, formerly of Greenwood, died peacefully at her home at Norris Manor on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Granton United Methodist Church in Granton.

Mayvin was born Dec. 15, 1920, in Longwood to George and Tillie (Horn) Poppe. She was raised on the family farm, attended Poppe School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1938. Mayvin then attended the Spencerian Business College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After college, she returned to Clark County and was employed at the courthouse in Neillsville. Mayvin was united in marriage to Arthur Hendrickson on May 22, 1943, in Greenwood. Together they farmed in the town of Beaver. Upon retirement, they moved into Greenwood, where Art passed away in 1990, and Mayvin moved to Marshfield in 1992. Mayvin was a dedicated volunteer at The Senior Craft Shoppe and the Marshfield Care Center where she made many new friends.

Mayvin loved spending time with her family, Ron (Eunice) of Spencer, Larry (Mary) of Johnston, Iowa, and Randy (Sharon) of Neillsville and her 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom were very special to her. Mayvin touched many lives and will be sadly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Art; one brother, Elery Poppe; and one sister, Violet Wadzinski.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established at a later date.
