Aberle, Marie (Marriage - 15 June 1946)

Miss Marie Aberle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Aberle of Neillsville became the bride of Charles A. Cernik, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cernik, Neillsville, Saturday, June 15, at 2:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. William A. Baumann officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride wore a gown of white taffeta and lace. The taffeta bodice has a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves, and the full skirt was of lace. She wore a full-length lace-edged veil, and carried a bouquet of white lilies and white larkspur.

Elsie Aberle, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, and Rose and Tillie Cernik, sisters of the groom, were bridesmaids. Attendants for the groom were his brother, Jerry, and Emil and Arthur Aberle, brothers of the bride. Carl Holzgethen, the bride’s uncle, gave her in marriage.

Following the ceremony, dinner was served at the Merchants Hotel for 25 guests.

Mrs. Cernik graduated from the Neillsville High School, and for the past 2 ½ years has been employed as deputy clerk in the office of the Clerk of Circuit court.

After a brief honeymoon to the Wisconsin Dells and Lake Geneva, the couple will be at home at Wisconsin Rapids, route 1. Mr. Cernik is employed by the Wisconsin Valley Creamery, Wisconsin Rapids.

Out-of-town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Carl Holzgethen, Rose and Tillie Cernik, all of Chicago; and Miss Arlene Roehrborn, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
