Wichman, Henry J. (1 APR 1864 - 26 JUL 1942)

Henry John Wichman, 78, died at his home in the town of Beaver at 7 o’clock Sunday evening, July 26, of a heart ailment and complications following a stroke three months before. He had not been well for several years.

Mr. Wichman was born April 1, 1864, in Bloomington, Ill. On Dec. 5, 1890, he was married to Miss Louisa Ricther. They lived in Sheboygan on a farm and in the city until 1910. At that time they moved to Clark county, settling at the site of the present home. He was a prominent farmer in Beaver township for over 30 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.

Surviving besides his wife are the following children: Mrs. Henry (Rose) Delo, town of Beaver; Clarence, Athens; Mrs. Art (Edna) Joss, Wausau; Orville, at home, and Mrs. Lawrence (Evelyn) Firnstahl, town of Beaver. Fifteen grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the home at 1 o’clock and at the Trinity Lutheran church at 2 o’clock. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. The Rev. J. C. Langholz officiated at the service.

Those who served as pallbearers were Eddie Rohloff, Sigward Johnson, Charles Wehling, Herman Wolfe, Otto Foelske, and Arnold Stumpner.

Those who carried the flowers were Mrs. Eddie Rohloff, Mrs. Albert Foelske, Mrs., Otto Foelske, Mrs. Herman Wolfe, Mrs. Hugh Darton and Mrs. Edd Dobbe.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wichman and Mike Hubing of Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Art Joss and family, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Melby and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderson, all of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Anderson, Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Prange, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Behrend and Mrs. Anna Bever, Catawba, and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Delo, Thorp.
