Bardeleben, Velma A. (16 MAR 1947)

The marriage of Miss Velma A. Bardeleben, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bardeleben, Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), and Harland H. Gehrt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gehrt, Granton, took place Sunday afternoon, March 16, 1947, at St. John’s Parsonage, Neillsville, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. William A. Baumann, pastor of St. John’s Church.

The bride’s dress was of white satin and she wore a fingertip veil. Her flowers were a corsage of white and pastel flowers. Attendants of the couple were the groom’s brother, Everett Gehrt, and his wife, Miss Joan Switzke, a cousin of the bride from Minneapolis, and the bride’s brother, Frank Bardeleben. Mrs. Gehrt wore a dress of yellow and Miss Switzke wore blue.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the house being decorated for the occasion in white, yellow and blue. Supper was served to a large number of relatives and friends and at midnight lunch was served. Misses Adeline Knoop and Helen Hartung of Neillsville and the bride’s cousins, Misses Ione and Dolly Reidel of Granton, served the supper. The bride’s table was decorated with flowers and centered with a five-tiered wedding cake.

The young couple have gone to housekeeping on the groom’s farm near Granton.
